It is so hard to find veggies that aren’t covered in suctioned plastic in a supermarket.

Simple solution – go to a market. Or a greengrocer. They’re still around and don’t use packaging. You can have as many or as few long broccoli stems as you like. It also creates less waste, if you, like me, can’t eat 28 carrots in a week.

Buy some plastic free veg bags from amazon and the varieties are increasing. Most of them are drawstring and you can put them in the washing machine.

You will reduce your plastic waste by a considerable amount if you make these two little changes. Try it for a week and see 😉

Friction Free Shaving. ffs.

At last, there is an alternative to plastic free shavers.

Its Rose gold, which is fabulous. It’s metal. The blades are regularly sent in the post. You can send the dead blades back to be recycled*. You can even have them engraved. AND they have recyclable packaging. A massive bug bear of mine.

*you have to pay to send them back

Search Engine (Say no to Google)

This is one of my favorite discoveries.. ECOSIA

Make your homepage ECOSIA! It’s that simple.

When you search using ecosia, they plant trees while you search the web.

All information about how, and when, can be found on their website.

They have a fabulous instagram account with stories where you can see the tree nurseries growing and the difference they are making.

Toilet Paper

Most of it comes in plastic packaging, which adds no real benefit.

There is a company called ‘Who Gives A Crap’. If you’re on this page, you probably do. you will have to order in bulk. So here it is:

There are 2 types you can go for:

100% Recycled:

  • Great value starting at just 18.8p* per 100 sheets
  • Made with 100% recycled paper
  • No inks, dyes or scents
  • Our 3-ply is as soft as unicorn kisses and as strong as 1000 ponies

  • Great value starting at just 22.5p per 100 sheets
  • Our softest loo roll ever— it’s like wiping with clouds
  • Made with 100% forest friendly bamboo
  • No inks, dyes or scents
  • Luxurious trois-ply (that’s 3-ply in French, darling)

They deliver and you can have a repeat order too. You never want to be in that situation of running out.

If that doesn’t persuade you.. they donate 50% of our profits to help build toilets and improve sanitation in the developing world. Does YOUR toilet paper do that?! hmm?!
